Concrete poured at Accipiter Arena

PELHAM – December 15, 2017 – Tim Nohara, president of Accipiter Radar Technologies, watches as concrete is poured in the Accipiter Arena at the Pelham Community Centre, at Highway 20 and Rice Road, Thursday, December 14, 2017 in Pelham.

Accipiter Radar Technologies president Tim Nohara watched as workers poured concrete in the arena that will carry his company’s name once it opens next year inside Pelham Community Centre.

“It’s for the people of the town, it’s a generational project and we’ve got a vibrant growing community. It’s time,” Nohara said of why his company chose to sponsor the arena.

Group pleased with Pelham arena progress

PELHAM – December 12, 2017 – Pelham Mayor Dave Augustyn snaps a photo of the gymnasium at the new Pelham community centre, which is set to open mid-2018. He helped lead a tour of members from the architectural design advisory committee through the facility on Tuesday, showing them how their ideas are coming to life as the construction process continues.

There’s still plenty of work left to be done inside, but heated seats for parents who will be cheering on their children’s hockey games are being installed.

The flooring is being prepared for twin ice pads.

Wall studs await drywall.

Pelham Panthers: Panthers ready to find their home

PELHAM – December 4, 2017 – For Pelham Panthers players, from Junior Kindergarten to Grade 12, the new Pelham Community Centre promises a new home for practice and play.

When the new Pelham Community Centre opens next year, the Pelham Panthers Basketball Association’s long wait for a “home of their own” will finally come to a close.
